Common Questions
FAQ
- What is the minimum order quantity for custom coasters?
- 300 pcs per design on cork and 500 pcs on absorbent pulp board; offset litho pulp runs start at 1,000 pcs per artwork. Epoxy dome and gift-box packing raise the minimum to 500 pcs.
- How long do printed coasters take to produce?
- Dieline and printed proof in 24 hours, samples in 3–4 days, bulk in 7–9 working days. Sublimated cork and epoxy-domed versions add 2 days for cure time; pallet shipments are packed in unprinted sleeves of 100 for bar stock rotation.
- How should artwork be set up for absorbent pulp tops?
- Supply 300 dpi CMYK plus a spot white layer, with total ink coverage under 200 % — a full rich-black flood on an absorbent face pulls moisture into the board and curls it. Fonts above 6 pt and rules above 0.4 mm survive the fibre surface; gradients band on uncoated tops, so halftone them.
- Absorbent pulp or sealed cork — which holds up in a bar?
- Pulp board handles condensation the customer expects but is a consumable: 30–60 wipes before the printed face fibers up, so high-turn venues reorder monthly. Sealed cork with PU lacquer lasts 200+ wipes and never curls, but it pushes water to the rim and pools on the table. The hybrid most pubs settle on is a laminated absorbent top on a cork base: it drinks condensation and still survives a dishwasher run.
- Do coasters warp or leak after soaking up water?
- Curling comes from one-sided wetting, so specify 4 mm board (3 mm cups after two cycles), an unglazed cork or SBR base with the 2 mm escape offset, and a top sheet that dries flat within 24 hours. Absorbency beyond about 350 g/m² saturates into the fibre and leaks through the base, so for high-condensation drinks use a sealed cork or a laminated absorbent top instead of raw pulp.
