Common Questions
FAQ
- What is the minimum order quantity for chenille patches?
- 50 pcs per letter or badge. Full A–Z alphabet sets are quoted as one 26-design package with a 260 pcs total minimum, which keeps all pile dyed from one lot.
- What are the sampling and production times?
- Pile-and-colour swatch card and a stitched sample letter in 4–6 working days; bulk sets in 6–8 working days. Jacket sets scheduled by size run should be ordered 3 weeks ahead of sewing.
- Can you match a chenille colour from an existing letter?
- Yes — send one original patch and we match pile to the nearest Pantone TCX within one dye lot, or mail a 3-swatch option sheet. Photo matching alone carries a 5–10 ΔE risk, so always ship the reference for repeat programs.
- Chenille or embroidery for a varsity letter — what is the real difference?
- Chenille delivers distance-readable texture and traditional letterman credibility, but cannot reproduce anything finer than a 6 mm stroke, so small school names and thin serifs are lost. Embroidery reproduces fine detail, gradients and small text and is cheaper per piece at the same size, but reads flat at three metres. Most jackets combine both: chenille main letter, embroidered year and border detail.
- Does chenille pile mat or shed after washing?
- Expect 5–10 % loose-fibre shedding in the first two washes; after that the pile settles. To prevent matting, wash cold on a gentle cycle, air dry, and brush the pile against the nap direction once dry. Acrylic-wool pile flattens at high heat, so for 60 °C institutional laundering specify 100 % polyester pile and a sew-on — never iron-on — backing.
