Common Questions
FAQ
- What is the minimum order quantity for leather patches?
- 100 pcs for PU microfiber and 200 pcs for genuine cowhide, since hide cutting is batched. The steel deboss die is a one-time USD 30–60 and is free above 1,000 pcs.
- What is the lead time for leather and PU patches?
- Die and laser proof in 3–4 working days, bulk in 5–7 working days, plus 3–5 days air freight. Vegetable-tanned hide in non-stock colours needs 12–15 days for tannery matching.
- What artwork do you need to quote a debossed leather patch?
- A vector AI/PDF/EPS logo with a solid single-colour fill; we convert it to a die depth map and flag any stroke thinner than 2.5 mm for deboss. State final patch size in mm and target garment fabric so we choose thickness and backing.
- Genuine leather or PU microfiber — which should I choose?
- Choose genuine vegetable-tanned cowhide if the product story is heritage and the patch will be sewn on heavy denim or canvas — it takes a deboss with crisp fibre walls and patinas. Choose PU microfiber if you need colour-to-colour consistency across reorders, a vegan claim, sub-1 mm thickness for stretch fabric, or a lower landed cost; microfiber also survives 40 °C washing without the stiffening that wet leather suffers.
- Will an iron-on leather patch survive home laundering?
- Yes on cotton and polyester woven shells if applied at 150–165 °C for 12–15 s with 3–4 kg/cm² pressure and a 24-hour cure before washing — it then holds through 40 °C cycles at roughly 50 washes. On nylon, coated or silicone-softened fabric, hot-melt adhesion drops sharply, so specify sew-on with 3 mm bleed or a hook-and-loop base instead.
